The rules of tric- or treat according to me!

    1.  The neighborhoods frequently seen on cops or the first 48 will not be visited turn off your lights.

    2. The mall on the verge of closing down please begin your tric or treat at 4 and end at 6pm you are the "warm-up" spot.

    3.  The gated communities and sub-divisions advertising homes in the low 500's TURN YOUR LIGHT ON!!! you bought a half a million dollar home you can give out candy -the good stuff !

    4. kids over 13 and not dressed up don't waste your time, if you're gonna beg at least be cute.  Kids 3 and under get a doulbe portion wether you are dressed or not you're just too cute to pass up.

    5. Churches keep doing what you do this night is the one night the body of christ must be present and evangelizing

    6. 9pm is the cut-off that's it.  You better be from publisher's clearing house if you come after 9pm.

    7.  All costumes and candy go to 1/2 price at 9pm then 75% off on November 1.

    8. NO Christmas decor, we have thanksgiving people quit skipping it turn the carved pumpkin around and there you have thanksgiving/harvest!

    alone time

Ok right now I am in Ponca City oklahoma preparing for women's sunday.  It is special for many reasons

    1. It's my last one as I must focus on my people in Rogers and my ministry there

    2. This was the first city I moved to on my own and live in an apartment behind the corps

    3.  This was the last city that I was single, I move to Ft. Smith and five months later I was married.

    4. I was in the first Americorps group in Kay county.

I took for granted being on my own and enjoying the city.  Sometimes I got depressed because I didn't have a car and then I decided to walk and it was a 20 minute walk from my house to downtown plus the gorcery store was like five minutes.  Then I was the van driver so after taking folks home if I needed walmart or something on 14th street I was right there.  Being here now though seals the fact that those memories were a "lifetime" ago.  Matter of fact the first kids in our daycamp program are now at the youngest is 16 to 25yrs.  Man I am old, I mean I was all of 22 when I lived here.

I am looking forward to tommorrow, I know you can never go back but it will be fun to visit for a moment.  Where does the time go?  I mean I thought I would die with a diaper bag and stroller in my casket but I have a four and five year old potty trained and refuse strollers especially in walmart ( where I need them in one the most besides disney). man it does fly by so enjoy it while you can.

Summer time and the perfect storm

Man I have not been on here in a while, well what has happened to me?  My summer has been a roller coaster of activities and emotions to say the least.  I have been as happy and excited as I ever could be and as sad, hurt, and destory as one could be.  I gave my testimony last Sunday and I sort of summed it up as "The perfect storm" but what I learned from this?  It's part of me putting away my childish things.  I am grown and I have be think, speak, and reason and as grown-up which is hard.  I also learned that I am too old for the games, games in people, friends, and family etc.  In life many choose to play and that is fine but be careful the cost may be more than you want.  This summer I have decided to re-evaluate who I choose to call my friends.  You know there is something about "inner circles".

I have moved to a new city, and have a new ministry I just want a new start see which way this "storm" goes but I am glad I am in it.  I love this part of Arkansas and always have so I am glad to be back.  I am still deciding on whether or not to send Bobilyn to school this year I am sure I decide either way I have to get her ready.  School here starts at 7:45am WOW!!!!! I am gonna die.  I do have all my favorite shops, stores, and hair salon within mintues I tell you I have found my place of peace and poverty.  As for Noah he is still not potty trained but I have faith.  Tonight we (mostly me) have begun mandetory bedtimes, tonight was hard but after about an hour they quit fighting it and went to sleep.  Only 29 more days til victory is mine, let it be soon.

I love summer except for the heat and I want to continue in this perfect storm, it has been a learning experience and I am the better for the storm.  Well off to dreamland!!!
